Anapana Sati

Meditation on Breathing

Anapana Sati (mindful breathing), is the first subject of meditation expounded by the Buddha in the Maha-satipatthana Sutta, the Great Discourses on the Fundamentals of Mindfulness. The Buddha paid special attention to this meditation because it is the gateway to enlightenment and nibbana, accepted by all the buddhas of the past as the basis for their attainment of Buddhahood.

Practicing Anapanasati in a regular basis will help you to calm your mind, boost your concentration and develop insight. Here are some of the benefits

Health benefits (scientifically proved) such as:

  • improving immune system;
  • lower the risk of cardiovascular disease;
  • help balance blood pressure;
  • improve communication between hemispheres of the brain;
  • lower heart rate;
  • improve airflow to lungs;
  • reduce migraines and headaches etc.
  • Promotes activity of the parasympathetic nervous system
  • Affects levels of a neurotransmitter called noradrenaline, a stress hormone that is involved with the formulation of new brain cells.
  • Reduces the “fight or flight” response etc.
  • Mood – As several studies show when you practice anapanasati meditation, you become a happier and more positive person and it increases your job satisfaction, self-actualization, peace of mind and happiness.

  • Psychology – Another great benefit of practicing Anapanasati is, that it can help you reduce or even prevent: depression, anxiety and stress. The breath meditation helps control your emotions, incand reases the level of serotonin, improves energy flow.

  • Performance – Regular Anapanasati meditation practice increases your productivity and focus, improves memory and cognitive function.

    All sessions (30, 45 or 60 minutes) are offered in person or virtually (via Zoom video conferencing).

Guided and Active Meditations

Kristine offers guided meditations on Chakra Balancing, Forgiveness, Relaxation and other topics.

She also offers Active meditations which are an alternative form of meditations that let the practitioner achieve calm through movement. They are about focusing on the task and bringing mindful meditation into your daily routine. The practice of active meditation are especially for those who have a hard time sitting still in a traditional meditation setting.

Kristine is OSHO active meditation facilitator and she offers different meditations such as OSHO Kundalini, Osho Nadabrahma, OSHO Dynamic etc.  OSHO active meditations have been scientifically designed by Osho, over a long period of experimentation. They enable the practitioner to consciously express, experience, and release repressed feelings and emotions and to bring the body back to a relaxed harmony – and then the journey inwards can begin.
